RoGH : Digital Roots in Greek History’s Paths

ESPA EN

“Digital Routes” will allow users to have a lively experience through the steps of the Hellenic History, in a wide timeframe, from antiquity to modern times. Historical Periods and Facts are revived and connected with the Hellenic Scenery through travel routes and virtual tours of important and historical cities.

Project’s target is the creation of a platform to unfold important historical periods of the Hellenic History in a Journey through time and location. The platform will contain digital content of multiple type (2d,3d etc) and serve it to virtual and augmented reality enabled devices. The user, with the help of an interactive timeline, will be able to create personal routes through Hellenic History and learn about important events by visiting virtually the Hellenic cities that took place. All these by activating the application and use the virtual reality mask (cardboard).

The user-traveler will be able to specify the time frame that wants to investigate. In addition the user will have the ability to search any historical events, cities and objects based on lexicographical and chronological criteria. Finally, the user will be able to comment and read comments from other users sorted by location and timeframe, creating a path of information and a natural method of knowledge enhancement. The dynamic design method and the structure of the Timeline will give the user the ability to browse freely and access directly the Hellenic Cities that were milestones of the Hellenic history. With an interactive and 'easy to use' browser tool, the user will have access to documents, images, videos and 3d animations, learning about the Hellenic history from the Cycladic era to the more recent years.
